The Berlin multimedia agency Kalteswasser put a virtual counterpart to the German Children’s Fund’s donation box online
[10.12.2004] Up to now the donation possibilities on the internet usually didn’t go beyond simply filling out an electronic transfer form. In contrast, Kalteswasser uses the possibilities of the medium to the fullest—together with the German Children’s Fund, the creative heads of the multimedia agency conceived a virtual and interactive donation box. Animated coins and bills allow the user to make active decisions. The online benefactor decides per mouse click which bill or coin should go in the donation box.
“Fun is the most important factor of the German Children’s Fund’s electronic donation box,” says Jörg Stehle, Managing Director of Kalteswasser Multimedia. “Through friendly design and the different animations on the donation page, the process of donating is really lived.” A digital donation clock simultaneously shows how much has been donated. In addition the benefactor’s name is shown on a ticker.
